Two Types Of Herbs For Menopause Symptoms

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Overview of Menopause symptoms

Menopause should not be regarded as an illness or a disease. It is simply an occurrence wherein the woman is entering her second phase of feminine life. Of course, these women are experiencing a gradual discomfort because of the transition…this is only natural. If there are telltale signs of menopause symptoms, you can opt to procure some treatment in order to minimize the feeling of discomfort.

But it is important to remember that any kind of treatment will not prevent you from undergoing menopause process, especially when your age is already falling from and between 48 - 55 years old. It will only help you to deal a lot easier with menopause symptoms or relieve majority of their major discomfort effects. Your lifestyle might also need some changing especially your smoking, eating, drinking, and sleeping habits in order to minimize the severity of menopause symptoms.

What can herbs do to treat menopause symptoms?

There are many types of reliable herbs available that can treat menopause symptoms. They can maintain women’s healthy life even when menstruation process causes a lot of discomfort and decline in their health aspect. With herbs carefully and religiously applied you may not only alleviate those various forms of discomfort but you will also maintain your healthy life.

Two basic types of herbs for menopause

Phytoestrogenic herbs

These are the herbs or plants that contain natural phytoestrogen, a type of chemical compound, which is similar to the women body estrogen. These herbs work by replacing the lost natural body estrogen with the plant hormones, phytoestrogen. Aside from this, there are other elements of phytoestrogenic herbs that are considered beneficial to menopausal women such as amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Generally, these herbs are an alternative to disorders relating to low hormonal/estrogen levels.

Most popular phytoestrogenic herbs:

? Ginseng. Used to improve your overall vitality and energy, this is a dried root from one of the Araliaceae herb species.

? Ginkgo. Used to enhance memory, prevent memory-related diseases such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s and others. This herb is one of the oldest herbal medicines used in China.

? Dong Quai. Most effective in treating gynecological complaints caused by the change in hormonal production.

? Red Clover. Diseases treated are skin disorders and bronchitis, asthma and spasmodic coughing.

? Black Cohosh. Symptoms treated include depression, night sweats and hot flashes.

Non-estrogenic herbs

In contrast with the phytoestrogenic plants, non-estrogenic herbs, as the name suggests, are those plants that do not produce estrogen chemical structures. These plants are widely recognized by the doctors and medical experts because of their effectiveness to relieve women’s menopause symptoms. Furthermore, they are considered completely safe and do not provide side effects.

The right non-estrogenic herbs contain nutrients that can nourish endocrine system, eventually balancing your hormonal levels. With the proper application, occurrences of the loss of hormones will be reduced as they can promote your body to naturally produce the needed healthy level of estrogen hormones, without the distracting side effects.

Specifically, non-estrogenic herbs will provide relief to the following disorders relating to menopause symptoms:

- majority of the menopause symptoms
- hormonal imbalance
- osteoporosis or bone mass loss
- infertility
- sexual intercourse problems
- cardiovascular disease

It is important to note, however, that even these herbs are a natural treatment you need to research on the kind of plant that you are going to take as not all of these will relieve and alleviate you from those menopause symptoms. There are herbal plants that can cause many other side effects, may it be minor or major.

Training With Treats: Do It Right!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Hey even I’m willing to learn new things if there’s a broiled lobster in it for me.

When I’m hungry that is.

If I’m not hungry, or if I’m so distracted that a lobster won’t tempt me, then I’ll blow you off to continue doing what I want, not what you want.

That’s pretty much how your dog sees the issue when you train with food. If he’s hungry at the moment, and if there’s nothing more compelling going on, food can be a great way to reinforce behaviors you teach your dog. On the other hand, if Fido isn’t food motivated, or if he’s got something “better” to do, he won’t be interested.

Nonetheless, training with food has its benefits when used as a motivator and a reward. For those dogs who just aren’t normally interested in treats, you can substitute play with a toy if that motivates them.

The first thing you have to know about using food in training is how NOT to use it. The primary rule is not to use it to stop an unwanted behavior. Instead, use it to create a new behavior you want to teach.

With those rules in mind, you won’t teach your dog to stop growling at other dogs by using food. But you may be able to teach him to sit more quickly if there’s something tasty in it for him.

Before I tell how you to deliver food treats when training, let me tell you WHY you should not use food to try and stop an unwanted behavior. The answer is because you can accidentally reinforce the very behavior you’re trying to stop.

For example, let’s say Fido growls at other dogs on his walks. If you tell him to stop growling, and distract him with a treat, what has he really learned?

Here’s what YOU’RE thinking…he stopped growling so I rewarded him for that with a cookie. He won’t growl again.

Here’s what FIDO is thinking…this is cool, I growl, then mom pops me a cookie. Let’s see if this works…let’s growl more!

Think of food as a directional reward. How, when and where you deliver it all determine whether the treat teaches your dog what you intended, or something else altogether. For example, you tell Fido to sit, and you hold a treat six inches over his head, while pushing down on his butt.

Sound about right? Wrong! By holding that treat six inches over his head, you’re really teaching Fido to sit then immediately break that position in favor of jumping up to get the cookie.

Instead, start Fido standing on a closely held leash. Show him you have a cookie, by holding it at nose level-only an inch from his sniffer– while he’s standing up. Direct his attention, and nose, slightly higher by raising the cookie only enough so that he must tend toward a sit to view it. While he’s focusing upward only a couple of inches over his nose, use your other hand to push his butt down, while your cookie hand keeps the treat only a couple of inches from his nose as it moves.

As soon as he is sitting, deliver the treat to him just slightly above nose level, and slightly toward his rear. This means that to collect the treat, Fido must actually lean back into the sit more to reach it.

Mission accomplished! Food hasn’t been just randomly delivered to your dog, leaving him wondering why he got it. Instead, the food has clearly communicated how he can get this treat even faster next time, by sitting when you ask.

Anyone getting hungry?

Fire Protection - Is Your Family Prepared?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Is there such a thing as a fireproof home? The answer is no. The best anyone can do is actively take steps to prevent a fire from starting in the first place, and, if one should occur, make sure you and your family knows what to do to get out safely and have the tools to do so.

Fire Prevention:

What kinds of things can you and your family do to actually prevent a fire?

1. Identify potential fire sources in your home such as the stove and other cooking equipment, heaters, portable heaters, water heater, etc. Make sure nothing flammable is stored near these heat sources. That includes pot holders and towels near the stove, or flammable items stored above the stove. Don’t tempt your children to reach above the stove for candy or cereal - store those types of items away from any heat source.

2. When cooking make sure you’re not wearing loose, long sleeves which could catch fire.

3. Don’t smoke in bed.

4. Don’t locate heaters within three feet of your bedding or other flammable upholstery.

5. Keep matches and lighters away from children.

6. Help prevent electrical fires by making sure not to overload electrical circuits. When not using them make sure you unplug unnecessary appliances.

7. Use extra precautions when using candles, especially around children and pets. Don’t allow candles to burn unattended.

Fire Warning and Safety:

What kinds of things can you and your family do to remain safe should a fire occur?

1. Make sure you use smoke detectors on every floor of your home and near the bedrooms to alert you in case a fire breaks out.

2. Make sure you test the detectors regularly, and make sure batteries are replaced annually.

3. Draw up an escape plan for your family and make sure you practice that escape plan periodically. Ideally you should also have an alternate escape route drawn up should the primary escape route become blocked.

4. If you have a second or third story, make sure the bedrooms have escape ladders which are located near the windows and easy to use. These should become part of your escape route practice.

5. Make sure you have fire extinguishers in your home which are easy to get to in case of a fire. Do research the different types of fire extinguishers so you know which one to buy. Some extinguishers are only effective on certain types of fires.

6. Consider purchasing a fire blanket which can be used to extinguish a fire, such as a fire on the stove. Keep the blanket handy in the kitchen.

7. If a fire occurs in your home make sure you get yourself and your family out as quickly as you can, but try not to panic. If you are in your room and don’t know if it’s safe to open the door, check the temperature of the door. If it’s hot don’t open it. One way to check for heat is to check the temperature of the doorknob by spitting on it. If it sizzles and evaporates you know there’s probably fire on the other side of the door. If trapped inside be sure to cover smoke entry points with wet towels or blankets. And yell for help or call 911 immediately. If you are able to exit, be sure to Crawl low to the floor to avoid getting affected by the fumes or smoke, as smoke and heat rises.

With careful planning and attention to safety, you and your family can prevent and survive home fires. This is truly one instance where an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure.

Store Your Extra Tile for Repairs

Monday, March 31st, 2008

A bit of forethought when you tile a floor in your home can preserve the look of your floors and save you money in the future. After you have selected your new tile for a surface in your home, be it a kitchen counter, a living room floor or a bathroom from a local tile resource, you will have to have a tile installer measure the space to determine how much tile you will need for the job. Some people prefer to have the area measured before they begin their search. This just depends on whether you will be hiring the installer yourself or asking the tile company to recommend one. You might even be tiling the floor yourself and arrive at the tile store with your measurements. In any case, once your selection is made it is a good idea to talk to the store representative about buying a bit more tile than is needed for the job. There are many reasons for this which will be outlined next.

When your new tile is selected you will take possession of a shipment which has been manufactured at the same time. This ensures that all of your tile will match. This is true of natural stones as well. Think of this as you would a dye-lot with respect to the manufacturing of carpet. While natural stone can vary from crate to crate, tile, with an artificial finish, will match in much larger quantities, but there is still color variation. Purchasing more tile than you need at the time of installation will ensure that anything that may have to be repaired in the future will have a replacement that matches the originally installed product. You can tuck these extra tiles safely away in the attic or basement until you need them.

Failure to do this may result in 2 problems. The first problem would be having to find out if the tile is still in production if it has been years since the tile was installed. The second problem, even if the tile were still being produced, is would it match the original floor? A little planning ahead will save you time and the hassle of locating the same product. You can almost guarantee in the case of natural stone, that you will not be able to find a match with the same color and pattern. Any replacement you do with a non-original piece will always look replaced.

If you do find that you need to replace a tile in the future, here are a few tips that will assist you. Whether water damage in a bathroom, or movement in the floor, sometimes a tile will need to be replaced. You might have noticed that when you walk on a tile, it will have a hollow sound underneath it. This means that bond between the tile and the adhesive that it is set in has broken.

To replace this tile you will need to first remove the grout from around it. This can be done with a grout saw or similar tool. Always wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from any debris. Once the grout has been removed you will need to break the tile and remove the pieces. To break the tile uses a hammer and a chisel.

Once the tile is shattered you need to pry any pieces which may still be adhered to the wall or floor. A sturdy, flathead screwdriver can be used to do this.

Next you will need to chisel out the adhesive and clean the area in preparation for new adhesive and grout. If you are working on a wall, make sure that you are careful not to damage the drywall behind the tile. In some case this might need to be patched and replaced if moisture has compromised the wall’s integrity. You will not know until you get into the project. Cleaning the area is an essential step because you want the new tile to be level with the rest of the wall or floor.

Once the area is free of adhesive you can then apply new adhesive and place the new tile in the open space. It is recommended that you use spacers that are the same size as the original grout lines. These can be obtained at a home improvement or hardware store. After the adhesive is dry, it is time to grout. It is best if you take a piece of the old grout and match it to what is currently available on the market. The color of grout has a tendency to age over time and you will want an exact match to avoid having the tile look like a patch job. Any questions you may have about replacing your tile should be directed to a quality tile installer or tile company.

Plan ahead when tiling your home. Whether it is new construction or a new tile addition to an existing home, a few extra tiles will save you major frustration and make any repairs hard to detect.

What Are The Early Indications You May Be A Victim of Identity Theft ?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Identity theft can be extremely scary, and if you have recently lost a credit card or other types of financial documents, you are at high and immediate risk of being a victim of identity theft. If an identity thief gets a hold of your social security number or your drivers license, they may even be able to pass themselves off as you. Once they have your credit card, they can actually start racking up bills in your name as well.

If you see any evidence that someone has been tampering with your mail, this may be an early warning that someone is trying to steal your identity. Also, if your credit card bills have not arrived when they should, you should starting having some serious questions in your mind. At times identity thieves can actually get these statements so you are not able to see what is going on with your finances.

Another very strong sign that you may be a victim of identity theft is that if you see bills arriving for purchases you know you never made. This is another reason that identity thieves may try to get your mail so you do not know what is going on. Some times an identity thief can actually start to have your mail delivered to somewhere else, so if you do not receive important documents like bank statements and credit card bills, you may want to start looking into the problem.

Even if your bills and bank statements are not getting through to you, you may still be able to find some signs of the problem. You may be getting receipts, follow up promotions, and even thank you letters from companies you have never heard of before. Also, you may find that creditors start trying to contact you by telephone. If this happens, then you may have been a victim of identity theft.

You may also find that you have other problems with various financial services as well. Maybe you try to get a mortgage or a credit card, only to find out that your credit score has mysteriously dropped. This means you need to get a copy of your credit report to see what is going on with your credit that you do not know about. You may also get turned down for state benefits or social security as well. If they tell you that you are already getting these benefits, then it is probably because a identity thief is already getting those benefits under your name.

At times you could even find out that someone got a mobile phone and signed up for an extremely expensive contract and phone, all by using your name as well. If you find that you have evidence of a problem, then you need to start reviewing your finances to see what is going on. If you can detect identity theft early on, you will be able to take care of the problem before it becomes extremely bad for your credit and reputation.

Ticket Buying Advice

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Have you ever had a bad ticket experience when purchasing events to a show? Whether it’s through primary sources such as ticketmaster, or secondary sources that compromise various ticket brokers and street sellers, problems can arise. So here are a few tips to help ease the pain and frustration.

Since ticketmaster is the original source for most events, problems are minimal. When purchasing tickets through ticketmaster make sure that you have your credit card, and all of it’s billing address info ready. Ticketmaster is simple to use but because it runs on timers, you can sometimes lose your tickets if too much time is taken entering information! This is very important especially when the event has just gone onsale and 1 million other fans are trying to buy the same event.

When buying through ticketbrokers, the buying experience can be a little more trivial, but with companies like ticketamerica.com worries can be virtually eliminated. Here is a list of things to look for when purchasing through ticketbrokers:

1. Make sure that the company has been in business for at least 2 years.

2. Check to see if they are a member in goodstanding with the Better Business Bureau or the National Association of Ticketbrokers.

3. Make sure they have a physical office with an 800# where a live agent can be reached.

4. See what ticket guarantees they offer to insure your ticket purchase.

When buying from street sellers, be careful!!! Most street sellers are simply trying to hustle a fast buck. They basically try to buy low from people with extra tickets and then resell them at a profit. They may also be ticket brokers that are selling any extra tickets that did not previously sell. Worst of all there are the theives. These little rats are basically selling fake tickets to unsuspecting fans! Here are a couple of tips when buying tickets on the street:

1. Look at the tickets front and back, making sure their is print on both sides.

2. Make sure that there is some slight sheen appearence and feel to the tickets.

3. Check to make sure that all the info on the ticket is correct, such as Date, Time, and consecutive seat #’s.

4. Have the ticket seller walk with you to the gate entrace and verify ticket authenticity.

If you have any questions regarding a ticket purchase or need an opinion about buying tickets, feel free to contact our office.

Do Online Poker Tools Really Work?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

If you’re like most online poker players you want to know the secret to gaining an advantage over your opponents. You then probably understand that gaining this advantage online is much more difficult than in face-to-face live games.

Online games move so fast it’s hard to keep track of an opponent’s play, their decisions and how they play certain hands in particular positions.

Well there’s good news. An onslaught of online poker tools have come along to help you maximize your advantage. Before we find out if online poker tools really work let’s define what they are.

In short, online poker tools are any legal assistants (yes the online poker tools I am referring too are legal!) or software programs that help you play online poker. And hopefully play online poker better. These software programs assist you while actually playing at a table or they help you with your pre and post play analysis.

Most common online poker tools are calculators and trackers.

A poker calculator is a software program that’s run during play that provides valuable information like odds, probabilities, outs, etc.

A poker tracker is software that’s run before, during or after play that provides vital trending information that can be used to help analyze your play and improve performance.

Do these online poker tools really work?

Yes they do. With one caveat, since there are so many poker tools out there you need to find the right one/ones for you. I’ll be honest. Just like everything in life some are very good and some are horrible.

There are free tools out there. But I’m a believer that you get what you pay for.

That’s why I use one tool that stands above all the rest. Its called HoldemPirate or HoldemHawk. And it is the best poker odds, outs and probability calculator in the market today.

This tool has dramatically helped me understand how and why I make decisions the way that I do. Sometimes it has helped me when I could have made a very costly decision. It’s amazing the clarity you can receive from HoldemPirate.

I highly recommend this online poker tool. If you truly want to win more and systematically increase your odds of winning then you owe it to yourself to at least review this great online poker tool. In fact, you should get it as soon as possible.

WHiplash Injury Claim

Monday, March 31st, 2008

A whiplash injury claim is probably the most common action for compensation that solicitors have to deal with and accounts for thousands of claims across the UK every week. This injury is caused by a sudden acceleration or deceleration of the head and neck often as a result of a rear end shunt in a vehicle accident and is also known as acceleration/deceleration syndrome.

In its mild form it is referred to as a neck sprain and is characterised by a collection of symptoms that occur following damage to the neck usually as a result of a sudden change in motion affecting the discs, muscles, nerves or tendons of the neck. The damage is caused when head is violently thrown back, forwards or sideways followed by reflex contraction in the opposite direction. Swelling and inflammation occur following damage caused by rapid movements, which leads to pressure being placed on the nerves resulting in subsequent pain and discomfort.

To pursue a whiplash injury claim it is very important to make urgent arrangements after an accident to be medically examined either by your general practitioner or at the local hospital Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. The GP or hospital record will be used by your solicitor in due course to prove the extent of the immediate post accident medical condition and without this medical evidence it is extremely difficult to sustain a claim for damages.

Severe whiplash can cause serious damage to the spine and nervous system and this may often be resolved only over a long period of convalescence. In a minority of cases a chronic conditions may develop, which results in constant pain and disability, with little hope of resolution of the discomfort. Damage to the bones in the neck rarely occurs however on those occasions when it becomes a problem it may be necessary to surgically repair the bone or cartilage occasionally involving fusion of the vertebrae.

Symptoms of injury include dizziness, blurred vision, headache, nausea or vomiting, balance problems, pain or stiffness and loss of feeling or prickling in an arm or hand. It may also cause memory loss, concentration impairment, nervousness, irritability, sleep disturbances, fatigue and depression

If you are involved in a motor accident that is not your fault and you suffer personal injury you may be entitled to compensation. The amount of awards will vary dependent on the severity of the illness and the overall recovery period and whether or not there are any long term symptoms or disabilities. Damages vary from ?2,000 for mild neck strain up to ?250,000 for serious long term injury requiring surgery. Further compensation is also payable for financial losses caused as a result of the accident including loss of past and future wages, loss of advantage on the open labour market, a detrimental change in lifestyle as a result if the injury, damage to personal property and all reasonable general expenses and losses sustained as a direct result of the accident.

If you have had an accident and believe that you may be suffering from any personal injury you should seek proper medical advice as soon as possible. Diagnosis is normally swift, as this is a common injury associated with road traffic accidents. Diagnosis depends on various factors including the medical history, observation of symptoms and a physical and neurological examination. X-rays are done to remove any possibility of a fracture. A CAT Scan, MRI and other imaging tests may be required depending on the severity of the patient’s symptoms.

Treatment is usually by way of pain medication, anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants and physical therapy. Severe injury may be treated with a surgical collar, cervical traction and heat therapy. Surgery is not common. Sometimes though there can be a tear in an inter-vertebral disc which may have to be removed followed by fusion of the neck vertebrae.

Legal Claim UK is a national network of personal injury solicitors. Our lawyers are all members the Law Society panel of personal injury experts? and will deal with a whiplash injury claim using the no win no fee scheme. Compensation is paid in full? and win or lose there is no charge. You will receive a complete professional service from lawyers who specialise in claiming compensation for personal injury caused as a result of an accident.

Uranium Strategy Quadruples Buying Power

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Rolling off the assembly line, seven Strathmore Minerals’ non-core uranium properties were snapped up by joint venture partners in less than five months by non-binding Letters of Intent (LOI). Strathmore Minerals corporate secretary Bob Hemmerling nicknamed the strategy ‘fast and furious.’

After totaling the dollar amounts of exploration expenditures, cash option payments and market value of shares granted to Strathmore, we arrived at nearly C$150 million equivalent, and this came about without diluting the company’s shares. Instead, companies such as Yellowcake Mining and American Uranium signed Letters of Intent to raise the exploration expenditures and paid cash and shares to earn-in to specific Strathmore properties.

In Strathmore’s case, the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.

In Tuesday’s conversation with Strathmore Minerals chief executive Dev Randhawa, he told us, “The market has been valuing Strathmore at about $2/pound. With the non-binding LOIs, we are getting more than the market will pay.”

Can we expect more projects to be partnered with outside firms? “Absolutely,” Randhawa said. “We may have three or four more.”

Having been among a handful in the uranium space in 1996, Randhawa has been frustrated by the low dollar figure assigned to his company’s properties. “Investors tend to focus on the first few properties,” he pointed out. “Who looks down the list at properties 4, 5 and 6? How many times has anyone talked about the Chord (South Dakota) property or Nose Rock (New Mexico)?”

In a previous interview we conducted with Strathmore’s vice president of technical services John DeJoia, he told us, “I suspect Nose Rock may eventually have the highest grade of any Strathmore property.” Phillips Petroleum had drilled Nose Rock during the last uranium cycle and estimated an average grade of 0.135 percent U3O8. DeJoia’s boss, David Miller, believes Nose Rock could be mined for up to twenty years.

Exploration drilling by Union Carbine, around the same time frame, found an historical resource estimated at about 3.8 million pounds U3O8. Neither has been classified by National Instrument 43-101 technical filings.

Randhawa’s goal is to get $5/pound for the U.S. properties through his spin-off strategy. This is about the dollar amount stock analysts assign to the properties of comparable companies in the near-term producer’s peer group. “By unlocking shareholder value (with these spin-offs), we are getting more for the sum than the whole,” he said.

Moving toward Production

Commitments of exploration expenditures and fresh cash without share dilution have accelerated Strathmore’s expansion pace. “We have added staff and continue to add on a weekly basis,” Strathmore president David Miller wrote in an email to us. “We have expanded from a small Riverton office to a newly remodeled 5000 square foot building. We have rented space in Grants (New Mexico) for our project office.” This is in addition to the company’s permitting office in Santa Fe.

Miller added, “A few weeks ago we received our first geophysical logging truck. We have another truck on order that can directly assay for uranium in the drill hole. New computer modeling and mining software is being added on a weekly basis.”

Strathmore’s large portfolio of uranium properties, acquired before yellowcake became more popular, prohibited the company from the intense evaluation process required before beginning the permitting process. “For example, Juniper Ridge was not yet in our pipeline,” Miller confided. “After we acquired the data and started the evaluation process, the more we studied Juniper Ridge, we became more optimistic about its true potential. The joint venture decreased the time frame for going into production on this property by several years.” According to Miller the ‘fast and furious’ partnering process is speeding up the process to mine these properties.

Randhawa praised his technical team and pointed out that because Strathmore had gotten into the uranium space early, they were able to acquire experienced people at all levels. “We have veterans who have done open pit, underground and ISR,” he pointed out.

We asked David Miller if the large number of concurrent projects was spreading his technical team too thin. He told us, “We have added a number of high quality industry veterans over the past few months as quality new hires are learning their new profession.” Miller also pointed out drill rigs were now available as coalbed methane drilling Wyoming had recently slowed down.

Both Randhawa and Miller are optimistic about the speed at which the Wyoming properties are moving forward. “The fastest to production will be our Gas Hills (Wyoming) portfolio of projects,” Miller said. “This group of projects consists of over six open pits that were designed in the last uranium boom.”

If 2006 was Strathmore’s year of marketing the company to be acquired, and 2007 is unfolding as the ‘year of joint ventures,’ then what is in store for 2008?

Aside from increasing the company’s value and the Roca Honda project, Randhawa told us, “We hope to get mining permits to move up the timeline to production.” Miller added, “We will get one permit for the Gas Hills and then amend that permit to incorporate additional areas under the one permit.”

Miller checked off his list of projects heading for production. “The fastest will be the Gas Hills,” he said. “The Gas Hills was the largest uranium producer in Wyoming with over 100 million pounds.” Then he named off the remaining projects he believes could be producing, “Second fastest will likely be Sky. Third will be Reno Creek, fourth Pine Tree area, fifth maybe Juniper Ridge, sixth Roca Honda, and seventh Nose Rock.” And so on down the assembly line for the first ten projects. “The size of individual mines will vary from one-half million pounds to over one million pounds each,” Miller added.

And what is the latest on Roca Honda? On Valentine’s Day this year, Strathmore announced the company had signed an exclusivity agreement with a Fortune Global 500 company. “We will issue an update in the middle of July,” Randhawa told us. “We are quite hopeful. They’ve traveled here many times.” Miller refers to Roca Honda as the ‘company maker.’ The Roca Honda project was at the top of Kerr McGee’s mining list during the last uranium cycle.

On Dev Randhawa’s Christmas wish list is a mining permit later this year or early 2008. He wouldn’t say where he hopes the first one will come from. But then again, if your company has properties in three Canadian provinces, three U.S. states and Peru, there are 20 possibilities from which to choose.

During the close of our conversation on Strathmore-specific questions, we asked when the company would join its peers on the senior exchanges in both Canada and the United States. Randhawa told us Strathmore should be listed on the more visible exchanges by the third quarter of this year.

Whatever else happens in 2007, for the time being, Strathmore has quadrupled its potential ‘buying power’ with its new exploration commitments, cash and shares of its partners. And this should help accelerate the development of many projects which had never really been noticed before.

Fission Energy Corp Spin-off:
Canadian ‘Blue Sky’

“Uranium and nuclear energy are being talked about in the big company boardrooms around the world,” Randhawa explained. “People would be shocked at the ‘household names’ that have contacted Strathmore Minerals.” He wouldn’t name any names, but told us several were companies outside, or not normally associated with, the uranium mining sector.

Because Randhawa does not believe we are in a uranium bubble, he strongly believes in the spin-off of Strathmore’s Canadian exploration properties into the newly formed Fission Energy Corp. Once this new company clears the mandatory regulatory approvals, it should begin trading sometime in July.

In an attempt to divorce the company’s development projects from the exploration projects, Strathmore’s board of directors voted earlier this year to spin off the ‘blue sky’ projects. “Some investors prefer the high leverage of an exploration,” said Randhawa. “Other shareholders, especially in the United States and Europe, were more comfortable with the U.S. assets.”

After the spin-off from Strathmore, shareholders of record will receive one share of Fission Energy for every three shares of Strathmore Minerals.

We obtained a copy of the Fission Energy PowerPoint, which was presented by Jody Dahrouge at the annual shareholders meeting. “Shareholders were impressed by the extent of the Canadian properties,” Randhawa remarked. The new company’s property portfolio includes about two million acres in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin.

It came as a surprise to us - having mostly followed Strathmore’s U.S. uranium assets - that Waterbury Lake strategically surrounds the area’s Midwest uranium project. Denison has been drilling near the Waterbury boundary.

Another, which we wrote about in late 2005, was Davy Lake. In the early exploration, the company discovered a 51-kilometer conductor. Fission Energy’s Davy Lake is the largest contiguous exploration block in the Athabasca Basin.

Fission also holds Dieter Lake, which is an advanced stage development project. This is the single property which is accompanied by a National Instrument 43-101 filing. The resource is estimated at hosting 24 million pounds U3O8. Few ‘pure’ exploration companies have a uranium deposit with this size of a resource, let alone one which also includes the pedigree of a technical document.

“We wanted to unlock shareholder value,” Randhawa told us. “Analysts were giving the Canadian properties zero value, because they concentrated on our U.S. assets.” He believes down the road the new company could be revalued for more than C$75 million.

So while Strathmore Minerals will be aggressively pursuing the permitting process to bring the senior company’s uranium deposits into production, the junior company spun-off will focus on the pure exploration plays. In any event, there is a joint venture waiting list for either company’s properties. “It splits up the audience: some prefer the ‘blue sky’ of exploration, and others don’t,” Randhawa concluded. “And now we have something for both audiences.”

4 Fatal Muscle-Building Myths Revealed

Monday, March 31st, 2008

If you’re serious about making a solid commitment to a muscle-building program, you need to be very careful of who you take advice from. Bodybuilding and fitness is literally a multi-billion dollar industry with new websites popping up every single day. Many of the so-called “experts” out there really don’t have a clue of what they’re talking about and are only motivated by pushing expensive pills, powders and “miracle programs” on you that you don’t really need.

If you don’t watch your step you may end up falling for some fatal muscle-building pitfalls that will literally destroy your gains. In this article I’m going to expose 4 very common muscle-building myths in order to keep you on the proper path to the mind-blowing muscle and strength gains you deserve.

Myth #1: In order to build muscle, you must achieve a pump during your workout. The greater the pump you achieve, the more muscle you will build.

For those of you who are just starting out, a “pump” is the feeling that you get as blood becomes trapped inside the muscle tissue when you train with weights. The muscles will swell up and leave your body feeling bigger, tighter, stronger and more powerful. While a pump does feel fantastic, it has very little, if anything to do with properly stimulating your muscles to grow.

A pump is simply the result of increased bloodflow to the muscle tissue and is certainly not indicative of a successful workout. A successful workout should only be gauged by the concept of progression. If you were able to lift more weight or perform more reps than you did in the previous week, then you did your job.

Myth #2: Building muscle will cause you to become slower and less flexible.

Contrary to what you may think, building a significant amount of lean muscle mass will actually speed you up rather than slow you down.

Muscles are responsible for every movement that your body makes, from running to jumping to throwing. The bottom line is that the stronger a muscle is, the more force it can apply. Having stronger, more muscular legs means increased foot speed, just as having stronger and more muscular shoulders means the ability to throw farther.

Myth #3: You must always use perfect, textbook form on all exercises.

While using good form in the gym is always important, obsessing over perfect form is an entirely different matter. If you are always attempting to perform every exercise using flawless, textbook form, you will actually increase your chances of injury and simultaneously decrease the total amount of muscle stimulation you can achieve.

It’s very important that you always move naturally when you exercise. This could mean adding a very slight sway in your back when you perform bicep curls, or using a tiny bit of body momentum when executing barbell rows.

Myth #4: If you want your muscles to grow you must “feel the burn!”

This is another huge misconception in the gym. The “burning” sensation that results from intense weight training is simply the result of lactic acid (a metabolic waste product) that is secreted inside the muscle tissue as you exercise.

Increased levels of lactic acid have nothing to do with muscle growth and may actually slow down your gains rather than speed them up. You can limit lactic acid production by training in a lower rep range of 5-7, rather than the traditional range of 10 and above.
